The company started work 1935. Since then the company is producing colophony and turpentine. After reconstruction was made 1968, the assortment of production expanded to the wide Everyday Occurrence Chemical Products range.

AB "Alytaus Chemija" produces and distributes every day occurrence chemical output: shoe-polish, floor and furniture cleaning and polishing products, cars care and exploatation production, preparations for polishing, organic solvents, hand care lotions, pine colophony and turpentine. Over 20% of all production company exports to the Russia, Belarussia, Ukrain, Estonia. About 80% of pine colophony company exports to Poland, Italy, Czech, Latvia, Estonia, Uzbekistan.
There are 110 people working for the company. Company takes 9 hectare area the whole with ground floor and two-stored buildings on it, overground and underground reservoirs for oil and other liquid chemical output to store. The company is 15 kilometres far from the cargo railway station.
